L'énigmatique label Mama Told Ya, tenu par la DJ et productrice Anetha, basée à Paris pousse les artistes hors de leur zone de confort vers de nouvelles voies d'expérimentation et de créativité.
Le prochain volet se présente sous la forme d'un premier album kaléidoscopique, un double vinyle du producteur français et artiste A/V UFO95. « Popularity is Overrated » est le premier album du label, les précédents opus ayant été publiés sous forme de split EP quatre pistes en collaboration avec des artistes et Anetha elle-même, dont Niki Istrefi, Hadone, ABSL et Sugar.
Pour chacune de ses sorties, Anetha collabore avec un artiste visuel différent ; Recsoverto s'est occupé du graphisme de ce premier album, qui combine des visuels éthérés parodiant les jeux vidéo japonais et une typographie hyperréaliste.
Popularity Is Overrated est un disque magnifiquement éclectique qui donne l'impression d'un live sans effort d'un nouveau producteur prometteur, entre techno, errances trance et teintes breakbeat venues des 90’s.

The next installment comes in the form of a kaleidoscopic debut album, a double vinyl from French producer and A / V artist UFO95. "The Popularity is Overrated" is the label's debut album, with the older albums released as a four-track split EP in collaboration with artists and Anetha herself, including Niki Istrefi, Hadone, ABSL and Sugar.
For each of her releases, Anetha collaborates with a different visual artist; Recsoverto took care of the graphics for this debut album, which combines ethereal visuals parodying Japanese video games and hyperrealistic typography.
Popularity is Overestimated is a magnificently eclectic record that gives the impression of an effortless live performance from a promising new producer, between techno, trance wanderings and breakbeat hues from the 90s.
