Spaceman, également connu sous le nom de Stephen Munson ou Stephan James, est l'ancien chanteur du groupe anglais culte de glam punk Living In Texas, l'un des tout premiers groupes à avoir participé à une session de MTV Europe à l'époque où MTV en était à ses balbutiements, l'un des derniers groupes à avoir joué au légendaire festival Elixir en France, une fois n°3 dans les charts italiens (1985.),...
À la fin de Living In Texas, Munson continue de former d'autres projets sans grande conviction et d'écrire des chansons, jusqu'à sa rencontre avec Christelle Canot aka Confused, un moment qu'il décrit comme son épiphanie. Il lui confie la réalisation de son premier (double) album solo. S'ensuit pendant la pandémie la production d'un double album reprenant 9 chansons déjà enregistrées en 2000 et la composition de 16 autres avec des musiciens du monde entier, portés par le même esprit punk et DIY qui l'habite depuis toujours.

Poète, réalisateur, artiste touche à tout et grand parolier, ses chansons sont personnelles et universelles, lettres d'amour à ses enfants, à la nature, à nos addictions, aveux de faiblesse, regrets, sa vie défile à travers ces 25 chansons qui vont du chef d'œuvre folk lo-fi "frEND" au pur son postpunk tout droit sorti des années 80 "Everybody's Hooked On Something", en passant par des ballades folk-rock comme Martin's Garden, des chansons éternelles avec "Loving Ways" ou des ballades d'amour lynchiennes.... Autant d'univers que d'époques traversées avec la plus grande sincérité à travers les yeux d'un éternel enfant.

Spaceman is formerly know as Stephan James or Stephen Munson, the lead singer of Living In Texas, cult UK psychedelic punksters, renegade rockers from the 80s, one of the first ever groups to play a MTV Europe session when MTV was in its infancy. One of the last groups to ever play France’s legendary Elixir Festival. One time #3 in the Italian charts (1985.)

At the end of Living In Texas, Munson continued to form other half-hearted projects and write songs, until meeting Christelle Canot aka Confused, a moment he describes as his epiphany. He entrusted her with the production of his first (double) solo album. What followed during the pandemic was the production of a double album featuring 9 songs already recorded in 2000 and the composition of 16 others with musicians from around the world, carried by the same punk and DIY spirit that has always inhabited him.

Poet, director, multi-faceted artist and great lyricist, his songs are personal and universal, love letters to his children, to nature, to our addictions, confessions of weaknesses, regrets, his life unfolds through these 25 songs which range from the lo-fi folk masterpiece "frEND" to the pure postpunk sound straight out of the 80s "Everybody's Hooked On Something", through folk-rock ballads like Martin's Garden, to timeless songs with "Loving Ways" or Lynchian love ballads.... As many worlds as eras crossed with the greatest sincerity through the eyes of an eternal child.
